About
Rod Limb, M.Ed., LCPC, LMFT
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor & Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Listening for a living, since 1992
Rod Limb has spent his career listening to people and helping them work through problems that feel stuck. He has been a Professional Counselor since 1992, and a Nationally Licensed Hypnotherapist for over 25 years — long enough to have seen most patterns more than once, and to know that "most" isn't "all."
He earned his M.Ed. in Community Counseling from the College of Idaho, and his B.A. in Communication from Boise State University in 1987. He is a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, using research-backed assessment tools to help couples gain clarity on their relationship, and a Certified "Parent Project" Instructor for families navigating out-of-control teen behavior.
Rod's approach follows the counseling profession's wellness model: the belief that clients have the capacity to resolve their own problems with the right assistance, rather than a diagnosis to be managed. He is direct about timelines — some clients feel resolved in a handful of sessions; others, especially where grief, addiction, or childhood trauma are involved, need sustained support over months or years.

An introduction, in his own words
Faith, service, and where they fit
Rod has worked with spiritual and religious leaders as well as clients across a wide range of life views. He personally considers himself a Christian and is active in his religious community; earlier in life he studied toward becoming a chaplain and served in the Army as a combat soldier before becoming a counselor instead. He's open to discussing anyone's personal beliefs as part of your own values clarification — including your spiritual beliefs, if that's important to you, though it is never a requirement of working together.
With over 33 years of his own marriage as "on-the-job training," Rod brings both clinical training and lived experience to marriage and family work — while keeping the final decisions about your relationship, faith, and life exactly where they belong: with you.
